New Business
Discussion included the fleet replacement needs of the LGFPD and included the dramatic price increases for new apparatus and the extensive delivery times after order is placed. It was estimated that a tanker would be delivered in 15 to 19 months, a fire engine in 21-22 months and a minimum of 24 months for delivery of a new ambulance. Discussion included staff was requesting authorization to purchase through the Sourcewell Consortium and include a 10% contingency availability to cover any unseen upgrades or changes.
Motion by President Linnenburger, seconded by Trustee Streiff, to waive the bidding process and utilize the Sourcewell Consortium pricing to enter into an agreement with MacQueen Emergency for the purchase of 1 Pierce Saber Pumper Tanker in the amount of $828,000 with a 10% contingency; waive the bidding process and utilize the Sourcewell Consortium pricing to enter into an agreement with MacQueen Emergency for the purchase of 1 Pierce Enforcer Pumper in the amount of $789,000 with a 10% contingency; and waive the bidding process and utilize the Sourcewell Consortium pricing to enter into an agreement with Foster Coach Sales for the purchase of 1 RAM Horton Ambulance in the amount of $358,164 with a 10% contingency. Motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote.
