Today (12/1/21) at approximately 3pm BCFD2 responded to a report of a house on fire in the 2000 block of Cairnwell Drive. BCFD2 along with North Boone Fire, Belvidere Fire, Capron Fire, Capron Rescue, Lifeline, Boone County EMA, Cherry Valley, North Park, and Genoa Kingston were able to get the fire out quickly. Thankfully nobody was hurt. District 2 Fire would like to thank everyone who responded to help.

Multiple fire departments responded to a massive house fire on Burning Tree Circle in McHenry that was fully engulfed by fire when crews arrived. High winds added to the power of the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
The homeowner, who was home at the time, was not injured. The house is considered a total loss.

From Michael Paige at the swift water rescue today (5/18/20) at 4201 W. Lake Shore Drive in Wonder Lake where fire department swift water rescue techs verified that a stolen car in the river was unoccupied before working with a towing company to remove the car.

At around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported fire at 540 Devonshire Lane.
first respondersFirefighters arriving on the scene found a two-story, multi-family apartment style building with fire visible on the roof.Police officers and firefighters began evacuating residents while crews worked to extinguish the blaze, which was elevated to a three-alarm fire. The fire was first seen on the roof but quickly spread the entire length of the building through the attic. who said crews set up multiple ladder trucks to get water onto the roof and attic.
The fire was declared under control at around 5:20 a.m. The building was deemed uninhabitable and no injuries were reported.

A 911 call came in before noon Wednesday at a business at 37W507 Big Timber Road, just west of Randall Road. Firefighters found a lot of fire in the attic of the one-story business, and flames later spread to the main level. The fire was under control by 2:30 p.m. Twelve departments assisted the Rutland-Dundee Township FPD. The cause of the fire , was electrical in nature and accidental. The loss is estimated at $1.5 million.
The 30-year-old, 9,000-square-foot building was destroyed, along with a skid-steer loader and a variety of construction tools.
Employees first noticed sparks coming from electrical wires both outside and inside the building, and got the power shut off within 10 minutes.
The Elgin FD battled a 2-Alarm house fire at 329 Park Street this morning (1/16/19).
