This was an emergency purchase rig. In the midst of a major apparatus shortage, pretty much no manufacturers have extra stock rigs floating around. Romeoville got lucky finding this engine. I believe this is a Saber chassis with the Contender body. It’s pretty much the economical version of Pierce. I don’t think Romeoville is necessarily unhappy with Seagrave, they just knew they wouldn’t see one for years if that’s the route they went. It appears apparatus sales have slowed down a little bit but the wait for a new rig with the major apparatus builders is still around 4 years or more.

Just got a Seagrave not long ago. Is this a commentary on that delivery or something else. They seem to be all over the place builder wise. Rosenbauer, Seagrave, Pierce, who ever built their truck, etc. At least its not KME.

Surprised they went back with Pierce. If I remember correctly they have a snorkel on order from Rosenbauer.

Sharp, and traditional looking. Add those painted wheels is nice touch to project no nonsense. Can always add chrome aluminum wheels later too.
