Mike, I did the same thing you did. I looked them up. You are correct, it’s not listed on their website. But if Google it and look at all the pics. They do have a single axle tower. It’s truck one. It also has the new paint scheme. White and black with a black ladder. It was purchased in 2018. Harry, ok so they ran 55,000 calls. Understand they run ambos. So those run numbers include the ambo runs.

Hairy, since you brought up Clayton country I figured I would take a look. The apparatus listing they have shows they do not own a tower ladder. They have 1 tiller and 4 rear mount aerials, but no tower ladders.

Harry, no one really cares about what depts. out of state you visited. But when you discuss rigs from Georgia or Palm Beach Heights Gardens, Florida, you’re missing out one important part. They don’t have beat juice sticking road salt to the underside of their rigs

Localguy the dept is what I said Clayton co ga when I was there in 2019 and by about the truck already had 5 calls already and back in 2019 there call for the whole dept was 55000 calls a year now it’s like close to 65000 calls a year

Clayton Co FD, got it. I misread it. Thought you said a dept in Clayton Co.

Harry, I’ve got a few buddies that are on the job in GA. What dept are you referring to?? Also, 100K miles in 5 years on a truck is REALLY REALLY high. Do they replace said truck every 5-6 years. A truck that busy wouldn’t last 10 years (200K) plus miles with that kinda abuse. No matter who made it. A little closer to home. The two single axle 110s Indy purchased almost immediately got transferred to slow companies.

John I know a very busy dept Clayton co ga has a 2018 pierce 110 single axle tower and as of 2020 they were almost 14 stations now I believe they are over 15 stations and this truck has I would guess more than 100000 miles on it by now and it has performed better than there alfs did

Algonquin has a 107′ Pierce Enforcer PUC Truck on order.

There is really a push on for the do-all single axle 100′ Quints out there.
Elgin decided they didn’t need a tower and theirs is (was) for sale.
I chuckle to myself…..what one of those bloated single axle rigs will look like with 47K mileage on it.
They say rigs are cheaper than personnel.

I looked at the photos and it still appears to be a in service rig. All the equipment is still on it. It will be interesting to find out what they are planning on replacing it with.

I took a look at the site. According to the site, it says this truck will be available Spring 2024. I have not heard but my guess is they have something on order that they are expecting in the spring of 2024. That is why it says available spring 24.
I have not heard about them getting a new truck. I do remember when they sold the old Ferrara tower, that one was only 4 years old I believe. But they had issues with that truck.
It is going to be 9 years old, that is starting to get up there for a front line truck. Bottom line, it sounds like they are going to keep it till next spring. I am guessing they want to sell it now so whenever they get a replacement rig this one can go to the new owner right away.
The mileage is not too bad for a 8 or 9 year old truck either.

This is odd. What are they doing then?
