This from chicagolandfirephotos.smugmug.com:
Saw this parked outside of the firehouse no markings just sitting there also I think 2662 is being kept as a spare because it’s parked out back.

A little while ago, I was listening to the scanner. It sounds like the “new” engine is in service. It was referenced as Engine 2603 over the radio.

They are getting rid of 2613. The Lombard engine might be in service in the next few weeks. They’re probably keeping the truck for the foreseeable future.

As far as I know, they don’t have enough space inside to keep the 1997. They have the two medics (02 & 12), the truck and the engine. I believe the battalion buggy is left outside most of the time.

Are they keeping Engine 2613 1997 International/KME as the reserve?

Tower 51 went to an auction lot south of 80 last week. Merrionette Park did not buy it

Also I don’t think 2604 is being replaced because its a 2014 and just got back like 6 months ago

I saw them running in it the day after they were going on a med with it which is a little surprising because i know they normally take the truck out. but anyway does anyone know why they would have it outside and be running in it instead of 2613 being parked somewhere else. Also I don’t know how old the picture posted on here was but its knowfully marked up and parked behind 2602

Tim–Truck 2604 was just repaired & refurbed, so I doubt they got a “new” tower ladder.
Will this be 2603, 2623 or will they reuse 2613?

The new engine will replace Engine 2613 the 1997 International/KME. The new ambulance replaced Amb 2612(2662) the 2006 Ford which will be sold. It’s sitting in the back because there’s no room on the inside.

Wonder if they gave a deal for the ambulance and the engine. The tower ladder isnt listed for sale either anymore so maybe they bought all 3
