The new Engine 10 was designed by members of the Apparatus Committee. The Committee consists of those who will be the end users (Firefighters and Lieutenants), those responsible for maintaining the vehicle (Fleet Services), and those who justify the need and expense (Fire Administration).

I too am partial to the more angular look. Harry, perhaps they threw darts, rolled dice, drew cards, or cast lots to determine this.
