Dear Elsbeth and family of John,
Tim and I wish to convey our most heartfelt condolences at this time of great sorrow in your lives. Although we did not know John as a close friend, we certainly knew of his honorable reputation and his love for the fire department, his family and of course, you Elsbeth. We are presently out of town but after seeing the photos of John’s funeral, there is no doubt this fine gentleman and devoted firefighter-lieutenant received a magnificent send off.

in 2005 while riding with the 1st shift @ h&l [truck] 20 @ shift change lt leonard came up to me & asked why I was not riding with him on 2nd shift. I told him that I did not think I could? he asked me “did you ask” I told him no & then asked him If I could ride on 2nd shift. he told me yes I could. I was honored to have given him a 13×19 poster of truck 20’s rig [it was nicely framed] & other fire ground action shots of him thru out the years that I have known him.

In a day when it’s hard to find role models and people to strive to take after it is sad to lose one. From making sure I had a descent pair of cleats to play in, keeping an eye out to make sure I never steered too far off the right path, til now, demonstrating the right way to be one helluva firefighter. I’m proud to have known you, and better for it. I’ll miss you brother.

What a sad day for all who knew such a wonderful man. I knew him a a coach at St Patrick High School. His hard work and dedication to those boys, my son included will always be remembered. He was a true gentleman and kind soul.
My condolences to his family and friends,
Joyce Pedicini
