As many have discussed on this blog probably 100 times before, NFPA isn’t iron clad rule, just a recommendation. Plus, E95 and E116 still have the green light in the lightbar on the roof of the rig.

Even if it doesn’t allow for the color green is there any penalty for having the color green? I would assume it to be only a recommendation and not an iron clad rule.

Perhaps it is because NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, Section 13.8.12.1 Zone Colors does not allow for the color green.

Engine 95 is the second apparatus I’ve noticed recently, Engine 116 being the other company, who at one time had a clear lense for a green light above the officers side headlights. It is now a red/red light and is no longer green/red. Anyone know why?
