I am sitting in a 2 year old AEV and am unimpressed with the quality of their product, my company has 20 of these pieces in a type 3 configuration and they make me miss our old wheeled coaches

Mike, you do have a point. It’s just you need to give it time, the fleet is being upgraded just like Robert said.

Hey Scott the tires are literally falling off the ambulances, 90 percent of the fleet have over 100,000 hard miles on them. Fleet has disabled the air suspension in the back, making it hard to get patients in and out of the ambulance. This has caused several back injuries to department members.

Mike, as a Firefighter I find myself thinking. Why do people like you always think about one side. Listen Chicago might run this crap but It’s going to be upgraded. After many years of running engines, trucks, ambulances, they look like crap. The city wants It’s money worth out of it. When the new units come, you’ll like them. Give it a fee years and it’ll look like crap again. You also have to remember what Scott said. Compared to most suburban departments, they have at most 2-4 ambulances depending on size of the town some have no more than 10.

Dear Mike… Chicago has far more Ambos than any suburb… still have to consider budget and other demands for use other than it “may look good”.
