Does anyone have any idea what they are going to order to replace this rig? I hope they received a decent insurance payout. I wonder if they are going to try to find a manufacturer that does not have a 4 year wait time for new apparatus.

Such well built Apparatus….i can totally see why people spend top dollar and wait 4 years for them!

First off it’s a Pierce so it’s already junk coming off the line. Second they are getting a big check from there insurance company to get a replacement rig. So I believe it’s all or nothing, besides who wants to take the chance that its’s “good” parts after an accident like that.

Mike – Pierce would never consider parting this rig out. Pierce doesn’t have the manpower to do so when new rigs are 4 years out. In addition, Pierce in Appleton isn’t even really doing crash repair anymore due to the massive backlog. Lastly, the potential good parts are limited to the engine, transmission, and pump. Other than that, most everything is trash.

If I were them I would that back pierce and have them take what’s salvageable off for their new apparatus. The engine, transmission, transfer case and rear end are probably good. That’s a lot of money saved by not having to buy new stuff.
