It required plenty of work to keep it that nice looking and running as well as it did, hats off to the public works mechanics that kept that thing running for 35 years. It was a quick engine also. One of the last 2 door cabs that Seagrave made.

Mike – There isn’t a single apparatus builder that would consider putting a new cab on a rig like this engine. This Seagrave has a J-Cab which is long discontinued.
In addition, the odometer on this rig was replaced at one point. From what I was told, it had over 100,000 miles on it when the odometer was replaced.
Regardless, this is an awesome rig! Pretty much no technology on it. Very no non-sense as Crabby would say!

What a unique engine to come up for sale. I hope it either goes to a small rural department somewhere, or is kept by a collector. 35 years old, runs, pumps, seems to be in decent shape, it would be a pretty good deal for a small department that need something that functions.

If I were them I would keep it. I would have a new cab put on it. With the cost and delays for new apparatus, and this one not having any of the emissions garbage. This low mile, low hours rig would be a good spare.

It does look good wished it would have body rust, if it was out od Stainless it would be a GREAT buy

That looks good for being 35 years old. Not too many non 4 door cabs nor the old 2 cycle DETROIT engine powered apparatus any more.
