E127 was 1st Engine.
The Southwest side of the city has been rapidly changing, as you can tell by the run totals the last few years (E32 58th busiest engine company; 2,338 runs). E88 19. 3,858 runs. E127 42. 2,805 runs. Usually companies like E32 were in the top 5 slowest companies many moons ago with less than 800 runs a year. Mind you I’m sure most of the runs are ALS runs but they’ve been getting quite a few fires lately.

Very interesting. I thought trucks in Chicago usually take the front of the building. Does this area of the city see a lot of fire activity?
