The Orland Fire District responded to a 911 fire call on the 9800 block of Avenida Del Este at 10:41 PM Monday evening.Multiple 911 calls were received for an unknown type fire in the area, that is suspected to have begun from a shed adjacent to the home. Battalion 6 arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming out of the a shed which was located adjacent to a tri-level home. The fire had already extended and was spreading into the second floor attic. Fire companies made a blitz attack with two pre-connected hose lines to the front and rear of the home. The fire was quickly brought under control and prevented further fire spread.The homeowner, who met fire companies in the driveway and advised that everyone was out of the house, was alerted by an unknown person that saw flames and kept banging on the door until the resident answered. A full still alarm was called to provide additional manpower and equipment to the scene and to back fill Orland stations. Multiple crews from the Orland Fire District on scene were assisted with fire control, search and rescue, and overhaul.Orland Park police assisted by alerting neighbors in another adjacent home and relocating them to safety. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. The Orland Fire District is being assisted with the investigation by the MABAS 19 investigators as well as the Orland Fire District Origin and Cause Team. Departments providing manpower included Palos fire, Tinley Park fire, Homer fire, Lemont fire, and the North Palos Fire District as well as change companies from other neighboring departments.
