Oak Park companies were dispatched last night shortly before 10pm for a house fire at 604 N. Grove in Oak Park. Companies arrived to find fire on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a 2.5-story frame single-family house. Two lines were pulled off of Oak Park E602 to the 2nd and 3rd floor, while a 3rd line was used to hit hot spots on the exterior of the house. Companies worked for approximately 2 hours. All occupants, their dogs and cat made it out safely.
Companies on scene: Oak Park E602, E603, T631, A611, A612, Bn3, Forest Park E401 and Cicero H&L 2.

Thank you so much to the Oak Park Fire Dept. who contained the blaze in the house next door to ours. Watching them work was amazing as they put out the fire and protected the homes on either side. The firemen equipped themselves and walked into the blazing inferno. Their bravery was astonishing and heroic.

I would like to thank the Oak Park fire department for everything they did. Keeping the fire contained to my home. True heroes.

Strong for Oak Park !!! Without an aggressive attack the house next store could of been a complete loss. Hopefully the Village board remembers this come budget time.
