Orland remounted a bunch in 2014, 2015. They saved about $40,000 per rig.

We remounted a 2006 and a 2007 Med Tec Type III using Foster Coach. Everything out the door for each was roughly $127,000. That was in 2017 and 2018. It saved over $100,000 per unit. We run them both front line now and the only problems we’ve had with them are related to front end alignment. That’s a Ford issue that we would have whether it was a new rig or a remount.

This will be the new 812. 802 will be the oldest front line ambo once this one is in service.

822 has a brand new one already the only one that I know of that doesn’t have a new one is 812. 802 has the newest one that they got at the end of last year early this year. 822 has the second newest they got that early 2020.

I think that this will be ambo 822 because they’ve been in 832 since I saw them last.

I’ve worked on multiple Osage remounts and they do a great job stripping down the box and getting it ready for a new chassis.

I’m sure several factors. If the body is still in great shape and the chassis is crap then savings would be noticed. But I would imagine there have been cases where unexpected complications came up and before they knew it the cost exceeded price of a brand new one.

I wonder how much money is saved by going the remount way???
