Daniel is correct. Point of clarification, though… you’ll see the Rescue units listed at VR1/VR2 solely to keep them at the bottom of CAD screens. Not referred to as “vehicle rescues”.

The old E-One tower was being used by Truck 10. Truck 1 was there in their normal Spartan rig.
As for the squads, both of them are the only fire apparatus in their house, so they do have a still district that they are first due in. In the event of a fire in their still district, they will act as an engine. The squads have all the same rescue equipment as the truck companies and can act as either an engine company or a truck company (minus the ladder compliment and main aerial) depending on the situation. They also respond on extrications and other rescue calls. Naperville also has a Hazmat vehicle, TRT vehicle, and a Water Rescue for those situations.
As for the rescues, Naperville does have 2 “Vehicle Rescues”, but they are small vehicles that respond to non emergency calls and for manpower. They carry a limited amount of equipment and are only staffed by 1 person. They are only up when they have extra manpower on a shift.

I know Napervilles E-One Tower is their reserve Tower. The new Pierce Tower must have been O.O.S? Unless the E-One tower was acting as one of the Spartan/Crimson trucks.

Naperville used to run with a heavy rescue Squad….maybe Sq 8. Does anyone know the new thought process within NFD, with regards to Squads and Rescue’s?
Squad 8 & 9 ?? Are these used as Engines and Squad’s for rescue?

Yes, Engine 5 got Engine 7s 2019 E-One in December of last year. Engine 7 was put in one of the 2005 E-Ones as seen above.

Did Engine 5 in this picture use to be Engine 7?

Nice knock on the fire! Looks like the origin of the fire came from the garage. Perhaps a car fire inside the garage?
