Representatives from the Westchester Fire Department in Illinois were down at REV Orlando last week to perform their final inspection on their new Wheeled Coach custom ambulance. This new Type I on a Ford F-550, 4×4 chassis will be headed north within the next few days to receive a few final additions at Fire Service Inc. Radios, computer equipment, lettering & graphics, will all be added to complete the unit. Last but not least, final inspections and testing will be completed in order to certify this vehicle for emergency service. Be sure to check back for additional pictures of the finished product.

If I’m not mistaken, this is a very different spec from previous ambulances in Westchester!

They have the FORD logo blocked out too but still put to good use. Reminds of the the USPS with their new MERCEDES BENZ vans. They block out the logo with their own to downplay the fact that it’s a MERECEDES but those METRIS vans don’t cost any more than any other van in that class. Oh well.
