This from Martin Now:
While looking for a new work truck, I came across the Ford Cutaways/upfit side of their website. Shown here is the Transit Cutaway under ambulance.
While here is a photo of an actual type 3 ambulance.
It will be interesting to see if departments and companies bought the transit chassis more than the E-Series. Would this finally discontinue the remainder of what the E-series came to be?

The Transit’s seem to be reliable but definitely not as heavy duty as the E series. I never cared for the way the E series transferred the weight. I still think the F-450 and F-550 bring the best value for the ambulance market.

If I had to make a guess, they might just keep the E SERIES chassis the way it is only they would put the T SERIES cab on it. Makes sense that way there’s only one cab to build for both the T-150, 250, 350 and E- 450, 550. The T SERIES tops out in the 10000-11000GVW range while the E SERIES is over 14000K.
