Big Moe, our short term East Coast Chief was Martin Dooley. If he lasted and had his way, we would of had a Mack Aerialscope

The former Engine 416, 1997 HME/Luvergne, had a bunch of issues in addition to being grossly underpowered.
Engine 415, our spare, is way past due for replacement. It is a 1986 HME 1871/KME/Darley. Hopefully it will be retired and replaced over the next year.
Danny is correct about Truck 8, which was sold in 1981.It was manned by our volunteers and carried 225′ of ground ladders. Because of the exorbitant cost of an aerial ladder and being completely surrounded by staffed truck companies, our village administration chooses not to have one for obvious reasons.
Lastly, a few corrections on vehicle numbers. Battalion 40, aka Car 402, is a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe. And Car 400, spare, is a 2005 Ford Expedition.

In 1988 they had a Chief from Connecticut that was going to establish a truck co. and started to hire 3 guys for it. He was soon replaced and the idea died on the vine. Guys hired just went to work on the ambos and engines like all the rest. Can’t recall his name.

Mike they never needed a truck as they’re surrounded by them. Bridgeview is basically a mile wide and 4.5 miles long with a fire house on each end. They have Bedford Park, Roberts Park and North Palos trucks to the west and Burbank and Chicago Ridge trucks to the east.

Bridgeview is surrounded by trucks. Bedford, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Oak lawn, North Palos and Roberts Park.

I’ve always wondered why they never had a truck company. I guess they rely on auto aid companies only.

I believe the HME had issues if I’m not mistaken. Keith would know better

yes i agree i am surprised they sold the hme and not that engine

I hope they never get rid of the old engine. That thing is unique.
