FERRERA, EONE and KME are all part of REV so at some point you have to wonder if there will be a reductions in legacy names. KMEONE?

that may be an issue with that one rig… dept by me has a rescue as well as 13 engines that rarely see shop time the oldest is a 2006 and the newest is a 2020. when they are in the shop they arent there more then half the day at max and on the newer stuff if its a waranty issue they go to the local repair facility and are usually gone 3 4 days.
it all comes down to your specs as well as the quality of that build day to day(it will vary as there are alot of parts of the process that are done by hand, not by machines) people love pierce, but they have their issues (suspension, aerial rust, frame rust to name a few) but you never really hear anything about seagrave like you do pierce and kme.

E-One’s are trash. Just ask anyone at Orland how their E-One truck has been holding up. It’s literally been out of service more then it’s been in service. Nothing but problems from what I hear.

Yes, in this world nothing is perfect and problems come up. However, there is no excuse for not honoring or being jerks about it when it comes to standing behind the product in regards to a warranty. Again mistakes in life happen but it’s how you own up to it that makes all the difference. That includes blaming suppliers. Customers don’t care about supplier, production or other childish internal issues. They care about the thing that they paid a great deal of money for it and expect it to work as designed. Not just the family car but especially emergency situations and if problems come up, they expect the terms of the warranty to be honored.

I would like to second what Mike said. I love everybody on this site (and, in fairness, all other fire/fire buff sites) screaming that “____________ make great trucks and _______ are terrible pieces of ****.”
It’s almost like each company produces both good and bad apparatus and that’s dependent on hundreds of factors, some of which are completely outside of the manufacturer’s control.

Martin you are correct. It will be a rescue pumper going to station 2 on Bell road. Luckily Lemont has experienced no major issues with their current tower ladder. They also have a Rosenbauer tender under contract and another Rosenbauer engine they will begin to design soon.

Well it sounds like the the brand’s to buy are E-ONE and SUTPHEN I haven’t heard many complaints about them.Sometimes quality is over looked for quantity. All three of the Bourbonnais Pierces the rescue pumper, the pumper/tanker, and the 85 foot platform have spent many hours up in Appleton getting repaired and springs and frame rails among other issues.Remember, there isn’t one car that’s perfect and also applies to fire apparatus. You just hope when you take delivery you have a good appartus!

Chicago is no longer purchasing Rosenbauer the Squad debacle on top or the Truck companies that are all issue ridden and consistently in the shop was enough. The current Squads are not going to last half as long as the previous.

Rosenbauer is really becoming popular in the Chicago area. Bartlett, Chicago, Glen Ellyn, Lemont, Mattseon, Manhattan, Northwest Homer, South Elgin,Sycamore, Peotone and I am sure I am missing a few.

Someone said it was going to the station on Bell. Not 100% sure if that’s accurate.
