After talking to some people there I don’t think they’re getting the rig back

Is it me, or is Truck 36 running in the old Truck 3?

D-546 is currently running as Engine 64 on the southwest side of the city. Seen it there over the past few days on my way to work.

Thanks for the list! Just as an addition, Engine 96 is still in their 2002 Spartan/Luverne non-raised roof engine!

the 1988 e-one 135″ ladder has been out of service and sitting at fleet for over a year and a half. its supposed to be on the list to go to auction from what i was told. the 1993-1996 seagrave rearmounts are the oldest trucks in the spare fleet and the oldet towers are the 1996 hme lti like 21 39 and 37 used to have. watching posts on FB you see 39s and 21s out on the streets alot. but they dont have that many spare towers as a few weeks ago tower 23 was in a spare 1996 hme lti and then a few days later a post on facebook showed them in the old truck 52 pierce as a spare.
for enignes since the hme luvernes are out of the spare pool from what i was told you have.
engine 127s 2000 spartan with the unpainted roll up doors
engine 126s 2001 spartan non raised roof
engine 122s 2001 spartan raised roof
engine 71s 2001 spartan non raised roof
engine 73s 2004 spartan raised roof that was also most recently @ E 102
engine 116s 2004 spartan raised roof
engine 72s 2006 spatan raised roof
1992-1995 spartans still listed on the roster.. but some of these i believe are with the hme luvernes for engineer training

Truck 36 was there because Tower 21 was at a fire

DH I believe that the oldest Aerial in the spare pool is the 1988 ,135 foot E/One that was Originally assigned to Aerial Tower 1 unless they had gotten rid of it recently. As far as a 100 footer goes it was one of a few 1993 and 1996 Seagrave Patriot Aerial Ladders , however since the new E/One aerial Ladder were delivered last fall some of Older Seagraves from the batch could have been retired from the spare poll but other then that I can’t5 be more specific.

Does anyone know what kind of change of quarters Truck 36 was on? Was the tower ladder at the academy or was it something else?
It’s interesting that they didn’t have another tower ladder change to Tower Ladder 21. Apparently they don’t always have the same type of company change quarters as temporary replacements.
The New York City Fire Department tries to have have the same type of company change quarters from what I understood … a tower Ladder to a tower ladder etc if possible.

What is the oldest aerial in the spare pool currently?

112’s normal rig is one of the 01-02 Luvernes. The E-Ones also replaced a variety of rigs once the HMEs were gone. For example, I know Engine 72s Spartan is a spare now. Also, I don’t know for sure who’s it was but I’ve seen a similar aged Spartan in service as a spare as well.

all the HME Luverne engines are out of service either sold at auction or retained to be used at the academy from the engineers classes as far as i know… all the new e one engine delivered replaced the last of those as well as a few 2002 Spartans that are in the spare pool.

d-547 was delivered in 1994 and was put in service in Feb. of 1995 and was engine 122 till late 2001 when it went into the spare fleet briefly before going to engine 60 from late summer 2002 till march 2007 when it went back into the spare fleet…. and its one of but no the oldest D-530 I believe and engine 68 was using it recently. engine 68 also had D-540 as a spare as well.
D-530 delivered 1992 in service Jan 1993 ex engine 75.
and
D-540 delivered and in service in 1993 ex engine 15.

Holy crap!!! D-547 is still making the rounds as a spare. That has to be one of the oldest spares in the fleet. Unbelievable.
