The Ferrara tower is going in for warranty work.

So what is going on with the Ferrara tower ladder they bought a couple years ago? Is that going to reserve status?

Chuck – I’m sure the space is adequate otherwise it would be foolish for them to purchase the rig. The point I’m making is comparing the storage on the mid-mount Pierce Ascendant is quite limited to the competitors bodies.

Limited storage? Mike, the post 9/11 days of equipping apparatus with every once in a lifetime use tool are long over. If they have enough space to carry the stuff they use constantly, the rig is adequate.

HME makes a decent chassis, better than Pierce in terms of quality but they sure make a hideous looking cab. HME uses RK (Rosenbauer) aerials so I would probably say they’re pretty equivalent to the Pierce Ascendant as neither are top notch quality.

Sure beats an hme

Ironically, mid-mount towers were mostly condemned by Pierce lovers for years. Anytime the Seagrave Aerialscope was mentioned, many said it wasn’t a practical rig. Then Pierce comes out with the mid-mount Ascendant tower and it’s the greatest innovation since sliced bread. From my observation this truck has limited storage and the price tags is absurd. If I were to purchase a mid-mount tower it sure wouldn’t be the Ascendant as there are much better options out there.

Does anyone know what equipment is now carried on Tower 22? I am guessing the Jaws of Life that were carried on Tower 22 are now carried on Squad 22.

Looks pretty sharp. Nice to see mid mounts making a comeback of sorts.
