Still to be determined as to the staffing model at Station 45. Ideally I think they would like two additional personnel on shift 24/7 – TBD. They went with a Type III for station 45 due to the size and height.

Thanks for the information Bill S. I picked up on it a few weeks ago when I was in the St Francis ER. Have they hired more paramedics to put the new ambulance in service? It appears they would need additional staff.

Didn’t they just sell an ambo that was only 3 years old recently? I’m confused!

Where is the satellite station supposed to be? Will it be a 24/7 manned rig? TIA

Ambulance 45 will be at the satellite station.
Ambulance 15 and Ambulance 15R will remain at Station 15.

The Lincolnwood Fire Department has tentative plans to put a second ambulance in service on the east end of town. There are two assisted living developments that get a relatively high volume of EMS calls. One is Lincolnwood Place and the other is the Carrington. Lincolnwood Place is southwest of the Lincolnwood Town Center and the Carrington is about a block south of Lincolnwood Place.
I understand this ambulance will be designated as 248 and is in addition to Ambulance 15R which is a second ambulance/jump unit when Ambulance 15 is not available. Keep in mind this is based on how many are on duty. This is all the information I currently have. I don’t which ambulance will be assigned to the east end or what the hours will be.

Interesting. They went from a Type III to a Type I and now back to a Type III.
