Evergreen Park’s Station 2 @98th and Washtenaw was closed prior to the opening of the new Fire Station in 1998. The new station and the storage facility made it no longer necessary. The station had one slight flaw from the start where the bay doors are a bit narrow. It is still village owned and is used by several different groups in the village including the food pantry,

I think Joliet runs 1000 gallon engines.

Elburn and the surrounding towns still have a lot of non hydranted areas. The 1000 gallons is enough to get them started.

1,000 gallon pumpers are fairly common, especially outside the ‘burbs.

1000 Gal. tanks are very common around us in western Kane County and DeKalb County. Nice to have that extra water at times
