This from Eric Haak:
The McCook Fire Department had a fire come in about 4:00 am Saturday (1/26) morning at 5300 Lawndale Avenue. The building was a 100×100 semi repair shop. The area has very limited access as well as available hydrants. Temperatures were about -2 degrees making conditions even more difficult.

Riverside’s truck was in operation in the parking lot to the north of the building. Other than that, Bedford’s snorkel was it. Very limited access. One narrow road in and once that was blocked with equipment, it was nearly impossible to get anyone else in or out so basically once the initial companies got back there, they were pretty much locked in. I am in no way associated with the fire services so these are just my observations.

Which trucks went to work? Looks like the Bedford Park snorkel. Can’t tell from the other pic.
While there is no “standard” fire, this one definitely sounds like it had complications with access, hydrants, and weather.

Which companies were there? I can’t imagine how cold the firefighters were.
