Mike C.
Cary Fire has been using Sutphen apparatus for the past 23 years.
Currently the fleet consists of 5 Sutphen’s. The first Sutphen purchased was Engine 243 (1,250 GPM/500 GAL) in 1995. Engine 243 remains in service today as a reserve.
Since then Cary has added 4 additional Sutphen’s including:
Tower 281 – 1999 Aerial Tower Platform (100 Ft/1,500 gpm/300 gal)
Engine 241 – 2008 A.LS. Engine (1,500 gpm/750 Gal)
Squad 255 – 2014 Heavy Rescue/Air Cascade
Engine 242 – 2016 A.L.S. Engine (1,500 gpm/750 gal)
The new ordered aerial tower will be a replacement for the 1999 unit.

Any idea how long Cary has purchased Sutphen? Seems that they are happy with a wonderful product to the point they keep buying them! Glad to see!
