i mean i guess my hometown’s whole fleet is pierce and we never had any major problems so this dislike for pierce is new to me. It still seems a little bias tho because i post problems with all manufacturers and nobody bats an eye unless its pierce or kme.

Anthony it is way more than some lemons, the chassis issue and Pierce refusing to even acknowledge warranties is a major concern. This issue has happened to so many that there are lawsuits. It isn’t people just hating on Pierce, they are just putting out an inferior product. When they get their act together, people will praise them again. Also if you look at posts on this site, people call out all lemons. One that comes to mind is the whole Frankfurt debacle with the Smeal Snorkel.

whats the big bias against pierce on here ? People only focus on the lemons they put out and ignore all the lemons the other manufacturers put out .

Looks nice and lack of white is a nice touch.
I also wonder about such weight on a single axle.
We can hope that PIERCE has learned their lesson but no sympathy if they did not.

According to January meeting minutes, the 2003 e-one ladder will be considered surplus.
In one of the other meeting minutes, a grant was also being applied for replacement of an engine.

I don’t have first hand knowledge, but I would guess they sell. They often run an engine first due when the current quint is oos. They also have a relatively new ladder already.
Again, no first hand knowledge. I am just using past history of how they rotate and use apparatus.

The roll up doors are for the preconnects and pump panel access.

How old is the E-One quint that this unit is replacing? Will they keep that quint in reserve?

You are seeing a lot of departments with Pierce issues. Check out Roberts Park for an example. A two axle, too, I believe. Albeit, many years older.
Hope rigs runs as well as it looks. Assuming no changes, Pleasantview runs this first out to all paramedic calls, too.
Looking forward to seeing it on the street.

I like the idea of a single axle 100’+ ladder but I’m not impressed with the overall quality of Pierce products. Definitely not the quality they used to be.

Combination of hinged and roll-up doors is unappealing

Nice work, JB. Good to see all red rigs once in a while.
