Excerpts from abc7chicago.com:
A tree trimmer was critically injured after a large tree branch fell on him Saturday afternoon knocking him unconscious and leaving him hanging in a large tree at about 3 p.m. in the 2700-block of Princeton Avenue in Evanston.
Fire officials said he was trapped more than 20 feet in the air. He was transported to an Evanston hospital in critical condition.
This from Tim Olk:
Skokie firefighters assisted Evanston firefighters rescue a tree service worker from a tree.

Squad 21 gets taken by Engine 21 if needed, Truck 22 is the technical rescue rig as Truck 23 carries the HazMat equipment.

Harry, this is the new Tower 16. When Skokie was on the 5-11 last week they were using the old Tower 16 which is the spare.

Harry that certainly will be interesting because I understand that Seagrave has pretty well priced themselves out of the market and you really don’t see too many Seagraves around any more. The new fire chief is from the Louisville Fire Department in Kentucky which is still a Seagrave town.
The next Skokie rig due for replacement is Truck 18, a 2001 Pierce 105-foot ladder with a prepiped waterway. It really depends on how long are they going to wait to replace that rig. As a rule in Skokie most of the rigs get replaced after 15 to 20 years of age. Truck 18 is 17 years old however I haven’t heard of them wanting to replace it yet. Even if they wait until the rig is 20 years old it means that it should be replaced not more then 3 years from now,

Harry since when is Skokie unhappy with it’s Pierces. It has been buying almost exclusively from Pierce since the late 80’s and they recently received a new Rescue 17 that is a Pierce. Are you saying that they did want their new Rescue 17 or is their discontent with Pierce recent?

when they showed this on the news it looks as if the newest tower from Skokie it the reserve because it said 16r and I know Skokie is not happy with the pierces

Squad 21 is cross manned by engine 21 and I believe truck 22 is also the specialized rescue truck.

Is the Evanston squad manned or is it cross staff?
