Two people including a firefighter suffered injuries after a fire broke out at a three-story apartment building in Westmont Wednesday evening at 515 N. Cass Avenue. Firefighters rescued and transported one person to a local hospital after being found inside the 30-unit apartment building engulfed in smoke and flames. A firefighter also suffered a minor injury.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and an investigation for the incident is ongoing.

Upon arrival, there was a person down in the driveway, but I’m not sure if that person was injured and/or the person that was pulled from the building. The firefighter that was injured suffered heat exhaustion.
