Also, for those CFD historians, this same location in 1990 had a 4-11 alarm in it that was initially commanded by Bn13 Chief Tom O’Donnell.

That is a Hurst battery operated cutters. Both our Rescues in Milwaukee carry them. They work great in tight areas and remote locations (no need to bring the power unit).

Sebastian, Aerial Tower 1 was called special to the scene early on.
#7 by Sebastian on March 10, 2016 - 5:13 AM
Reason why i was asking is because aerial tower 1 responded and is about the same distance as squad 1 would be?

Sebastian, Squad 2 is MILES closer- 21 blocks from their firehouse to this location. And Tower 23 would be the 2-11 tower – straight shot down Milwaukee and then Cicero. And this is TL 14’s still, I believe, or 2nd truck, at worst.

Isn’t this a long haul for tower 23? And also isn’t squad 1 closer than squad 2??

This is an awesome set of shots. You’e got the brand new mask service unit, Engine 44 leading out in a wooded area, and a DDC working a deck gun
