Bill. Politics rules when it comes to ambo redistribution. No one cares about renumbering battalion chiefs and CV’S

As long as we are discussing the CFD ambulances I am really surprised that when the CFD brass realigned the Districts and Battalions earlier this year they didn’t relocate a few of the ambulances , like some people were speculating and suggesting?
The ambulance relocations that I specifically have in mind ,since the BLS ambulances were all converted into ALS ambulances a year ago are relocating Ambulance 75 from Engine 101 to Engine 88 (where there is plenty of room in the large station) and the relocation of Ambulance 29 from Truck 24 to Engine 121 where there is also plenty of room. One of the main reasons to relocate those ambulances would be to better distribute them and spread them out more now that all of the ambulances are ALS. Since the conversion to an all ALS fleet only Ambulance 74 was relocated from Engine 42 to Engine 13 which made alot of sense. Currently Ambulance 29 is just over a mile from Ambulance 72 so why not move Ambulance 29 to Engine 121, especially since Engine 121 now has plenty of space in the new station? These 2 suggested relocations make obvious sense so I wonder if they are still working on it or if they just don’t want to rock the political boat?

121 now has one of the big Pediatric Mass Casualty Buses in it. Not to mention they moved EMS Field Chief 4-5-6 there too. Plus 121, Truck 40 and the 21st Battalion, not much room for an ambulance.

Ambulance 80 was changed to 61 when the CFD went completely with ALS (Advanced Life Support) Paramedic Ambulance’s. The 15 former BLS are now ALS (added to the 60 ALS they already had), numbered 1-75 and assigned to firehouses throughout the city.

Why was Ambulance 80 replaced with 61? I understand the vehicle itself needed replacement, but why the renumber? I have lived across the street since A80 came to this house.

Other little changes are the Star is larger , the vent fins next to the star have been moved & the back side brake light/ turn signal was moved also.

13 was the first co to get the new rig. I presume they hadn’t finalized Thor design/size

You are correct. A few things were changed because the letters seemed small.

The lettering on the side of the box of ambulance 13 looks smaller than the others. Mysterious..

Why did they replace ambo 14? It had a relatively new 2010 F-450. There are a lot of 07’s still running

I am not a fan of that new lettering but if it does the job cant argue to much
