This from Eric Haak:
The Burbank Fire Department had a house fire just before 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (7/28). A mayday was called and the alarm was elevated to a Mabas Box. I arrived 10 minutes after the mayday to give you an idea of conditions. There were no firefighters injured during the incident and officially, I did not hear the reason for the mayday. As you can see, the fire was pretty much out but I thought I would submit some images anyway.

The Burbank Fire Department has been added to MABAS Division 21. They have two stations and a fleet of suppression units on Spartan chassis. Two were built by Crimson (an engine and quint), two by General Safety (an engine and the squad), and one engine by Ferrara.
Burbank covers four square miles from two stations. They also have three ambulances, one of which is a reserve.

I was driving through Burbank when this brand new black Dodge Charger caught my eye. 2013 Dodge Charger. It’s just like a slicktop police car. It replaced a red Ford Crown Vic slicktop. Unknown of the unit number but It’s most likely in the early 200’s

Dennis McGuire, Jr. stopped by the Homewood Acres Fire Department on Tuesday and submitted several images along with some information about the department.
Notes: The department is NOT up and running yet but they are working towards it. Training is under way and currently they have 15 volunteers.
The old Engine 1932 (1972 Ford-John Bean) has been sold to a gentleman in Grant Park, Illinois who owns a pawn shop in Flossmoor. It’s leaving tomorrow morning (5-30) and will be kept in Grant Park and driven to the pawn shop for use as advertising.(As a note, the Ford has a gas motor). This rig had quite a history; X-East Joliet FPD, X-Holbrook FPD, and X-Glenwood, Illinois, in that order.
The new Engine 1932 is the 1985 Ford/Pierce from Plainfield, Illinois. They haven’t decided if it will be painted or left white.
The other Ford from Country Club Hills was scrapped a few months ago, and was replaced by a 1986 Mack/Ward 79 pumper from Burbank, Illinois (X-Engine 208).
One of the pictures I sent is all three rigs lined up, makes for an interesting shot.
