Thanks guys for clarifying this. Don’t know where I got the idea that they had two new trucks.

Schaumburg Truck 52 is the only new truck in the town, i think if im correct truck 53 will get a new tower next year.

Wilmette runs a tower at each station. One is front line and the other reserve. They alternate roles monthly but they usually do not relocate the vehicles. In other words, one month 26 runs its tower while 27 runs its engine then the next month 27 runs it tower while 26 runs its engine (or at least how they have done it). Throw in their small squad with whatever engine is staffed.

cmk420, The new Schaumburg Pierce truck was placed in service as Truck 52, as shown below.

Truck 53 still runs with their older E-One, again, as shown below.

Additionally, Schaumburg technically has two reserve trucks. The first, is ex SFD truck 52, which is a straight stick E-One Hurricane currently parked at Station 51.

The other, is an unmarked E-One Hush, as shown on the station 53 page for this site, that is currently for sale. This rig continues to sit at station 53.

I also thought Schaumburg had a new truck at Station 53, that was featured on this site a while back.

My favorite thing about Thornton’s metallic green telesquirt is the lettering above the windshield. “It ain’t easy being green”. I always thought that was hilarious.

The Downer Grove BC buggy is not a 2012. It is the same suburban as the one pictured as the 2008 TSO. It had some radios added and re-lettered as the Battalion chief
