Here’s our final, it’s due for delivery by the end of May. It won’t have a combo tip for a master stream, we’re actually gonna have a custom Stang Industries smooth bore gun placed on basket

Thank you for the clarifications. I didn’t pay attention to detail in a pic of the current Tower 61, that it has a pump.
#2 by Happy Me- on April 3, 2023 - 7:39 PM
Gentlemen hopefully this answers above questions
1 it’s not replacing E61
2. It’s not run as a quint but as only Truck/Tower in city.
It has a puc pump, 1 pre connect & 400 gallon tank in case it’s truly first in with no Engine close it can do something.
3. It’s not run as a quint I understand the interpretations but it’s used as a truck.
4. Not a Jump Co. ether. Hopefully this helps thank you for the interest.

I wonder if the breathing air fill system on the outgoing ladder will be switched
to this one? I put the one in on the used tower and Pierce made it a real treat to do so…..

Localguy thanks for explaining that I really did not think of that
#5 by Localguy on April 2, 2023 - 6:40 PM
Harry, it’s about manning (6 is better than 3). Two rigs is better than one. If the current engine and truck are staffed, not jump companies. Then you wanna keep the two companies. You never want to lose a rig. The more man power the better. For safety, for increasing call volume and so on.
#6 by Harry on April 2, 2023 - 3:52 PM
If this is a quint then why would they need e61 in service
#7 by Mike on April 2, 2023 - 2:52 PM
Mabas the old towers were quints also. They all had pumps, tanks and hose. But with des plaines being des plaines your point about losing an engine is pretty spot on.
#8 by Frank R on April 2, 2023 - 2:38 PM
I believe the old one was a quint as well but you do have a good point mabas 21. Their chief has really made Des Plaines change and not for the better. He’s a cost cutting yes man that lives for the company and not the men and women he “leads.” He does more with less especially when call volume is on the rise, but I can’t see him making the stupid decision of taking ANOTHER fire suppression apparatus out of service and adding another pick up truck ambulance chaser.

Everyone has missed the big picture with this. The new Tower 61 is a QUINT! So hopefully Engine 61 stays in service, unlike 63.

I would assume like with chicago, they chose not to have it on the website. Chicago did that and that’s why all theirs disappeared from the old e one in process website

Curious was this a demo that was in production or has it been in production for a while and isn’t on MacQueens website
