This from Eric Haak:
I took in this restaurant fire in Gary, Indiana on Saturday afternoon (8/30). The fire was at 47th and Broadway and I was lucky enough to be at 35th and Broadway when the tones went out. The fire started in the kitchen and was quickly brought under control. Before anyone asks, the man in the civilian clothing was the owner and that image was taken within the first minute of companies arriving. He moved away seconds later. If you would have arrived five minutes later, there would have been nothing to see. The last image is of Engine 5, which is the newest engine in their fleet.

Thank you Erick for the Gary info, so how many engines and trucks are in service? Or is that a day to day thing? And one station is closed and the newer rigs are red/white thank you mike

They have three new Suthpens. Engine 5 has a monarch series and engines 7&13 have shield series. They are all 2012 demos and feature white cabs. Truck 1 has a 78′ HME Arhens fox that I think runs as more of a quint and is the only new rig to have a blue cab. Truck 2 has a 109′ HME Arhens fox. Both are 2012. They have two mini squads. Station 1s runs medical assists and 13s has a brush skid. Squad 2 uses ex-engine 1s rig. Depending on what companies were in service this still alarm had eng 5 and eng 4or12 and truck 2 squad 2 and at least 1 BC. Station 5 was or is closed and 5 was running out of a merrillville station. I don’t know if that’s still the case.

I believe they have 5 STUPHEN Engines. I know they got 3 Stuphens last year and two more earlier this year. They have two HME aerials at stations 1 and 2. I also believe they have a rescue unit of some sort running out of station 1.
