More on the 3-Alarm fire in Buffalo Grove, 3-8-25 from Dan McInerney:

Here are some pics from the 3-Alarm fire yesterday in Buffalo Grove at 321 Le Parc Circle. I got there after the bulk of the fire was knocked down, but the wind kicked up and made things interesting for a bit, but it never really took off again. As seen, Northbrook Tower 12 was downwind and in the thick of it, the members eventually donned their SCBA’s and kept the fire from spreading to the east.

On 3/10/24, The Bensenville FD had a still alarm at 902 Rt. 83, in a Ryder truck rental facility. Several panel trucks became involved in fire at the rear of the business. BFD E108 laid 600 feet of 4 inch to a hydrant on Rt. 83 as members laid a 2.5” to combat the fire. They were assisted ay an engine and BC from Wood Dale and an Itasca truck. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

This was a fire I took in after work in 08

Still and Box at 5922 W Erie, 2 1/2-story frame, 25×50, totally involved. Box on arrival by Truck 29

Got there 3-4 minutes after 96 and the group.

Tower Ladder 14 members were on the roof.

Right after the 4th image was taken, 2-2-4 ordered members off the roof since there were no lines on the second floor and conditions were deteriorating in the attic beneath them.

United Airlines (B772, N782UA, ORD-NRT) 1/7/20

This UA 772 made it to northern WI before turning around to come back with engine trouble. The Chicago Fire Department responded with a full ARFF assignment and escorted the plane back to the gate. As the plane turns you can see they had to shut the #2 engine down as evidenced by the lack of exhaust blur. Seen in the pictures is only a small part of the ARFF response; the Chicago Fire Department has the largest contingent of staffed ARFF vehicles and personnel of any airport in the world.
