New quint for Addison

This from Ryan Wyckoff:

Just giving you a heads up, there is a new Quint for Addison Fire Protection District sitting at Global.  It is a Pierce Arrow 75′ Aluminum ladder, 1500 gpm pump and I think 500 gallon tank.  It is already lettered but not numbered.  I did not have my camera with me so no photo.  They were hoping Addison would take delivery within the week.

New use for old fire station

Hank Sajovic submitted an image of Addison’s former fire station #3 at 101 Swift Road. It is now the home of Faux design Studio which incorporates a school to teach faux painting in addition to having contractors to that provide faux painting and decorative painting services.

Addison orders Pierce quint

The Addison FPD has placed an order with Pierce Global Emergency Products in Aurora for a 2012 Pierce Arrow XT quint.

Older engines leave the area

Bill Friedrich informs us of two area departments that have sold older engines that are no longer in services.

  • A 1993 E-ONE Cyclone engine from the Addison Fire Department has been sold  and will be going to Argentina. Specs include: Detroit Series 60, Allison HD740, Hale 1,250-GPM/ 750-gallon tank

Addison 2-11 on 7-1-11

The Addison Fire Department elevated a fire in a commercial building at 2150 Executive Drive to a Second Alarm on Saturday afternoon. John Tulipano went to the scene and reported that the fire was in a lazar cutting machine inside a large commercial building. Temperatures were 95+ degrees.

John submitted a few images from the scene.

Addison listings updated

Several updates have been made to the listings for the Addison Fire District in MABAS Division 12.

For Addison Station 1:

  • an image of the station has been added
  • new images with the specifications have been added for Battalion 106, Medic 110, and Engine 111
  • Engine 112, the 1990 Pierce Arrow reserve unit has been moved to Station1

For Addison Station 2:

  • there is an image missing for Engine 122, the 1993 E-ONE reserve engine

For Addison Station 3:

  • an image of the station has been added
  • an image has been added of Medic 130, a 2008 Ford F-650/Medtec Type I
  • the squad has been relocated to Station 3
  • missing images include a 1993 Ford Van, the Dive Trailer, and the MABAS Division 12 HazMat Trailer

Addison Fire District photo history

In what is the largest photo gallery to date, a recent history of the Addison Fire District apparatus and stations has been added to the site, which is accessible from the ‘Historic gallery’ button on the pages for each of the current Addison stations. Trucks dating back to the 1950s are illustrated along with staff cars and ambulances. Images for this gallery were submitted by Bill Friedrich and Larry Shapiro.

Addison photos updated

Pages depicting the Addison Fire Department in MABAS Division 12 have been updated with several photos from Bill Friedrich. Stations 1 and 3 have new daytime posed photos to replace the nighttime on-scene images that were posted previously. The new photos show the original unit numbers before the department renumbered the apparatus.
