I just starting scanning old 35mm photos of fires I have been to over the years and came across these.

This is the River North Art Gallery Fire at 361 W. Superior St. from April 15, 1989. This fire was a 5-11 and either one or two specials. I heard Aerial Tower 3 box it, grabbed my camera, and headed for the fire. By the time I got downtown (living in Cicero at the time) the fire was already a 4-11.

A sneak peek of Darien-Woodridge’s new Polaris brush vehicle. Not in service yet. Unit # G90. 85-gallon water tank. 5-gallon foam cell. Pump I think is 50-gpm.

Darien Woodridge FPD switches numbering

As of Thursday morning 8/22/13 at 10am the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District switched over to the DuComm CAD standardization numbering system for stations and apparatus.

Station 1 is now station 89

Chief 89

D/C 89

B/C 89

Ladder 89

Medic 89

Station 2 is now station 88

Engine 88

Station 3 is now station 90

Engine 90

Medic 90

New ambulance for Darien Woodridge FPD

Here is a sneak peek of one of the new ambulances (two were delivered) to Darien-Woodridge. These are Med-Tech ambulances on Ford 450 chassis. The ambulances are numbered 89 & 90. Darien-Woodridge stations will be changing to 88, 89, & 90 following the new numbering system Du-Com is using.

Fire in Joliet 7-17-12

Joliet had a fire on the far west side at 6901 Grantham Drive. A well involved detached garage that also damaged the house. Crews knocked the fire using three hand lines. Joliet E10 was first on scene. Also on scene were E9, E8, T9, A9, A10, and BC 2.

Plainfield Box Alarm 6-27-12

Thought you may want a few photos of the fire in Plainfield on Rolf road. The address was 23648 Rolf Road. One house totally destroyed and there was heavy damage to another.

The Herald News Sun has an article that states:

Fire destroyed one house and damaged another Wednesday night in the 23600 block of Rolf Road.

No one was injured in the fire, which Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said was reported at 5:41 p.m.

“Crews arrived to find the front of the two-story house on fire, the car on the driveway had started on fire and there were flames on the wall of the house next door from the heavy winds,” Stratton said.

New truck delivered to Darien-Woodridge

Thought you guys would like a photo of the new truck. It was delivered june 8^th. Crews have begun training with it. It was also at the show in Peoria.
