Berwyn had a garage fire the other night down the street from me at 37th and Harvey. Quint 901 had smoke showing from a 20×20 wood frame garage. They stretched a line and made a quick knock. Here are some shots

Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com:
Berwyn police doing a well-being check Thursday discovered a decomposed body in an apartment rented by a doctor near MacNeal Hospital, a city official said … authorities are trying to positively identify the body, which appeared to be that of a man in his middle 50s. An initial investigation indicates the man committed suicide.
A maintenance worker at the building in the 3200 block of Oak Park Avenue called police about 10:15 a.m. Thursday (4/16/15) requesting a well-being check because no one remembered recently seeing the doctor who rented the unit and worked at the hospital. When police entered, they found the body and also saw two propane tanks inside. That prompted a call for a hazardous material response team, but police did not find any explosives or evidence that the tanks presented a threat.
thanks Dan

Berwyn units pulled up to heavy smoke showing. Found a fire in the basement, and stretched two lines. The fire stayed at the full still level.
Here is a quick video of the house fire on Home Ave. We don’t have many photos as the police …
