Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD firefighters were dispatched to the BP station at Milwaukee Avenue and Route 22 Tuesday afternoon (6/25/19) for a reported car fire. Police officers arriving first notified the fire district that it was a truck on fire that was fully involved but away from the gas pumps. The Battalion 51 arrived and added Squad 51 to the response which originally was for Engine 53 only. The small box truck was filled with kitchen cabinets. The fire which was in the engine area and truck cab was impinging on the rear cargo section when firefighters extinguished the flames. An additional engine was called to assist with the overhaul.

Palatine firefighters were called to the Hobby Lobby at 615 E Dundee Rd around noon on Friday (6/7/19) for a car into the building. Callers said the car was on fire and the driver was unable to get out. Police officers arrived first and used fire extinguishers in an effort to put out the fire. The car was removed from the building, the fire was extinguished, and the driver was transported to the hospital. Palatine Rural and Hoffman Estates units assisted at the scene.
A Code 3 for smoke in a house was dispatched to another location in Palatine within minutes of this call and units from Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove were sent to investigate that incident as most Palatine units were at the Hobby Lobby.

This from Minas Klikas:
We had about 6-7 concrete trucks rolling after midnight . Was controlled with a full still response at 200 W. Jarvis, an Ozinga Ready-Mix yard.
Late Sunday evening, DPFD responded to several concrete trucks side-by-side that were fully engulfed in fire, with fire threatening power lines and close to a building. Quick action with multiple heavy streams by the Red Shift brought the incident under control.
