Hopefully the district’s immense wisdom can figure out funding towards staffing a 3rd ambulance to serve Willow Springs. The residents received a raw deal with a decrease in the level of service provided by Tri-State due in fact to a lack of an ambulance being run out of their Station 4. Yes it’s an ALS Engine, but those residents shouldn’t have to rely on a mutual ambulance, nor should Division 21 departments have to be a scapegoat being burdened with additional calls running to Willow Springs.
I am also humored with the inaccurate information presented by the village in regards to the referendum. The line starting with: In 2006 “Factors at the time included rising costs of salaries, benefits, pension obligations….”
Willow Springs was a completely part-time fire department. So how do they justify this statement and mislead their residents?

It may have been a good financial deal for willow springs, but I can’t be sure tri state was the best choice. Lots of infighting, bad blood, and politics.
At least early on, tri state was basically using Roberts and Bedford ambos as their own. Hope they have that all worked out.

It’s getting better in tri state from what I hear. The board is doing things for the district and making it a better place for the firemen. They have had some turnover in trustees and management positions which has really helped the whole situation out.
