Stopped by the shop the other day and there are 3 more of these buggies. They are not yet marked.

The blue is supposed to be for better visibility from the rear of the vehicle, w/ that lightbar you could have 1 or 2 pods configured so they flash blue only to the rear. And yes I HATE blue on fire apparatus.

NYFF thanks for the link!
I don’t mind the blue either, but I have to say that definitely not on a CFD rig. Another step away from the good ol’ CFD and all the classic stuff which made the dept what it is. BTW: From what I’ve seen on the Spartan web, the new aerials seem to be so far completely blue-less, so at least there’s a hope that it has been just some temporary “error”.

I realize I’m in the minority on this, but honestly I don’t mind the blue. If studies show blue lights are more visible than other colors in certain lighting, then maybe that’s the way to go. I’m all for tradition (maybe leave one of the grille lights green), but safety is paramount.

I’ll never get used to the blue, hope they’ll get rid of this soon.
