The Elmhurst Fire Department in MABAS Division 12 has been added to the site. Dennis McGuire, Jr. submitted the images. Elmhurst recently underwent a color change from their long standing white over school bus yellow with green striping to a more traditional white over red. They also changed from a E-ONE to Pierce.
EMS units are staffed by contract personnel while the fire suppression units have career firefighters.

Previously, Elmhurst had American LaFrance, Pierce, Mack, and Darley engines. The former aerials were both 100′ rear mounts from Pirsch.

Nice photos of the old Elmhurst rigs!
A point of clarification, however: Old Truck 1 (the Mack/Pirsch) was delivered in the Spring of 1977, along with a Mack pumper (1500/500) for Engine 1 with an identical CF600 cab (entire rig was built solely by Mack). I remember it well as a 6th-grader who HAD to stop-by the old Downtown Schiller Street Station to see the pair get placed into service.
Interesting note about Old Truck 2 (the Pirsch aerial which I am nearly certain was an ’82 and not an ’81- it replaced a mid-50’s Seagrave 85′ mid-mount that was running as T-2): the stick on this rig failed during it’s annual testing in the mid- or late 80’s (if memory serves). Elmhurst sent it back to Kenosha for repairs, and I believe Pirsch rather suddenly shut their doors (they were at the very end of their existence), stranding Truck 2 and a bunch of other rigs in a locked storage yard. Legend has it that the locks on the gates had to be cut and T-2 and a number of other rigs were ‘liberated’ and eventually repaired elsewhere.
Hopefully, someone else out there will clarify or add to this story (or legend).

Pretty sure Engine 3 is reserve at station 1 and Engine 4 is reserve at Station 2. Odds/Evens…at least thats the way it used to be.

I’ve seen E-1 the other day. Should have taken a picture. You have C-6 twice. For C-3 it is the incorrect picture.
