  They are still making E-series 350s and 450s for ambulances, they are just not making them with diesel engines anymore since the 6.0L had all the problems and won’t meet emissions standards anymore. All the of “E” series they make for ambulance prep are with the 6.8L V10 gas engines, many privately-owned ambulance companies and a few out-of-state departments are using them in the field already. I was remarking that they are bigger in terms of length, as this one looks longer than their previous models. All of McHenry’s boxes I have encountered in the past have been the shorter module, similar to what the Chicago Fire Dept. uses.

  Ford no longer offers the “E” series chassis for ambulances. Only the F. McHenry has used the F-series as a poster stated for a long time, the new design of the F makes them look bigger.

  McHenry has been running F450 chassis for quite awhile now.

  Wow. Thats alot bigger than the one’s they’ve been buying for the longest time. I wonder what’s with the shift to larger Type 1 rigs?
