The only resource sharing with Glenview is the ladder truck. Northfield’s preference on apparatus is E-One. The color scheme was changed to match other apparatus in the fire station.

The old squad will now run as Engine 29. The new Squad 29 does not have a cascade on it. The new Squad also has extrication equipment on it.

I am pretty sure it will. Will the new pumper/squad run as Squad 29? If so, will the old one run as Squad 29R? Does the new one have a cascade on it? How about extrication equipment? I do have to say the new color scheme is very close to Glenview’s, minus some gold trim. With Northfield sharing resources so closely with Glenview, I am surprised they went with an E-One instead of Pierce?!

I may be wrong, but this new pumper/squad for Northfield replaces the current Squad 29 which is also a pumper/squad unit.

Pumper/squads are a combination unit, that is a compromise. they usually carry less hose and more squad type rescue gear. A good example of this is Skokie’s Squad 18, which has been running that way for a very long time.

Sorry for the previous post…error entry…
What is the difference between a pumper, a squad truck and a pumper squad? Are they now combining roles?
