Box Alarm in Glen Ellyn, 5-9-14
This from John Tulipano:
Just a few quick shots from Glen Ellyn’s box alarm today at 503 Duane Street. Companies made a quick knock on the fire. Was one room on the 3rd floor in the rear of a 3-story, 50X100, mixed occupancy commercial with apartments above. One civilian was transported to Loyola.

Working fire in Bloomingdale, 5-9-14
More from John Tulipano:
2nd fire today… wish I saw smoke and flames, fire in an 3-story, occupied apt bldg, 50X75. Fire in a hot water heater flue in a void space started on the 1st floor and went up the void space. Fast knockdown with one line.
A reader has asked for information and specs corresponding to the 1970s series Oshkosh/Pierce/Snorkel that saw service in Elk Grove Village.
thanks Scott for supplying the photo
The following is a reprint from a local newspaper when the unit was delivered:
Some will notice that;
- the chassis is indicated to be from FWD, but the cab appears to match the Oshkosh units which saw service in Chicago.
- the year is not indicated
- there’s no mention of a water tank
