Took in the 2-11 yesterday around 330am at 500 W 26th Street. Fire was in a 3-sty ord building about 100×150. First-in companies attempted an interior attack but had trouble finding the seat of the fire. They ended up transitioning to an exterior attack and went defensive. At the height of the fire, 5 handlines, multiple portable ground monitors, Squad 1, AT8, TL5, and TL10 were used to try to get a handle on it. I arrived about 45 min into the job. Still Companies were Engines 8 & 29, Trucks 4 & 8.

Just before 1630 hrs on Saturday (11/01) afternoon on the 1100 block of West 31st Street in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The 15th battalion reported he had smoke coming from the roof of a laundromat. Witnesses on-scene reported that roofers had been working on the building just prior to the fire. An aggressive interior attack was initially made but was terminated once the roof supports became compromised. I have included an image of each of the four engines that were pumping at the scene with Engines 28 and 39 being first-due and in front of the building. Engines 8 and 29 came in on the box. Trucks 8 and 4 were the still trucks and Tower Ladder 5 on the box. Truck 33 was RIT.
