Lansing had a busy day. After sending an engine to Cal City and Munster, they had to deal with a fire of their own in the 18500 block of S. Oakley AVE. They also had a medical call during the fire which South Holland took.

One of the multiple fires MABAS 24 had throughout the day. 8300 block of Schreiber AVE. Box alarm brought engines from Highland, Lynwood & Glenwood, and trucks from Griffith & Cal City. Dyer sent an engine to man the station.

Schererville responded to a fire at El Salto at the intersection of US-30 & US-41 9/13/18. A full still was called and Lake Hills and St. John assisted. Something to note is the roto ray on the Lake Hills engine as its something rarely seen around here.

Tuesday morning, a driver fell asleep at the wheel and slammed his semi into an apartment building in the 18400 block of S. Torrence AVE. Divisions 19, 24 & 27 responded with tech rescue teams. No fatalities, extrication of the driver took around an hour.

Pictures from Chicago Heights’ house fire on 15th & Lowe on Wednesday. Pretty well knocked when I got there, in overhaul and hitting hot spots. Also pictured is Flossmoor’s former ambulance 1370 which now belongs to Chicago Heights as ambulance 681. While fighting the house fire, they also responded down the street for a vehicle smoking heavily.

While I was out plowing Sunday I came across an accident on 159th & Oak Park AVE. Orland Engine 2 was involved, unknown whether or not they were en route to a call. The front bumper was tore up pretty bad. Unknown transports but I saw 3 ambulances on scene.

I noticed that Flossmoor’s former 1372 is still listed so I have a picture of the current one. It is a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500. Not sure on the box, I believe it’s a Horton.
