For less than 2% of their calls, I’m sure it won’t be a hassle.

FYI, I am not on Decatur Fire. Just have a handful of good friends on DFD.
As for other central IL depts
Bloomington broke 13,000
Normal broke 7,000 both bfd and nfd run ambos
Champaign broke 10,000
Urbana broke 6,000
Springfield is around 19,000 and around 250ish structure fires.
Peoria I don’t know total calls. Know the old chief really well. They burn a LOT pretty much daily

First, know that DFD does not have fire dept ambulances. Yes they run EMS calls. Not all of them. In 2022 DFD broke 13,000 runs. Of which 150ish we’re structure fires. They have a decent Facebook page. I know they post dashcam videos and there’s a short 5 minute video of some of the fires they had in the first few weeks of January. DFD is a very busy dept with a lot of fire duty. Decatur is a rough town that has been hit hard with big manufacturing companies closing. Lots of poverty.

I confess I know little about Decatur Fire and their run stats, but would love to learn more.

Well that is definitely a new tryout for DFD. I can see it in E5’s still district.

The handful of times they will use the boom???? You clearly don’t know much about the Decatur fire dept. Size for size, they probably burn more than any Chicagoland fire dept.
