At least she has her air pack strapped on in case she has to go into the building in an emergency. It is regrettable how many chiefs do not bother. Some don’t even don the coat and/or helmet. All it takes if for someone to run up to you and say their kid is trapped, or for a FF to bail out of a ladder right in front of you, or a serious collapse resulting in maydays. Don’t tell me they will strictly follow procedure and stand outside with their radio. Most will go in – as is. A completely avoidable risk.

I saw the smoke from Roosevelt. I did a drive-by and at first it was only Broadview on scene with Eng. 7 & Amb. 7. A couple minutes later mutual aide companies arrived. Prayers to the family of the home.

Lotta male mope chiefs on the job everywhere too, Bill. Don’t judge.

I’m going to take a shot in the dark here and guess that she’s Broadview’s Chief.
